As a general observation, for some reason chaps take every comment as a criticism, and I don't know why. Discussion and debate is good, no need to take things personally. Still, I'm a cool, clear-headed guy who can rationalise everything so nothing phases me. I don't fly into rages, least of all on a forum for such a ridiculous hobby. Blokes dressing up as WW2 soldiers - come on, get a grip!

Look, there is room for every nuance in WW2 airsoft, there is no right or wrong, and Tim very clearly defined the sort of games the 34th run. I don't care how games are pigeon holed, but as I said, there is a clear difference between the extremes even though we all struggle to make an accurate definition. Those that haven't had a wide experience of WW2 airsoft might well be confused about definitions but don't worry about it - just get to games and enjoy what you enjoy. You may discover, in time, that you need something more to keep you in the hobby. Now, I like to be challenged in a game so perhaps I'd categorise games as challenging/unchallenging. Generally speaking though, games are NOT defined by kit levels or standards. I personally don't give a toss what people are wearing as long as they are respecting fellow players efforts, but I do care how they play. Thankfully, a common denominator of all WW2 games (apart from WW2-ness ) is a high expectation of personal gamesmanship, a high regard for other's entertainment, and a more thoughtful and considered style of play. It is this that strikes first-time players, who either think 'this is amazing' (marvellous) or 'pffff, this is shit' (goodbye!).

So, please keeps peckers up, engage and converse, and please stop looking for schisms and factions and put energy into running/promoting/attending games. Can it be that hard?

This discussion started with a request for the 34th and other organisers to get their player base to look at the other games going on on this site.

You should attend the 34th and other organisers games and promote your own games, I am sure the organisers would let you. Headshot when did you attend a 34th organised game?
I like the idea of the Copenhagen game but my German kit is late war so I cannot attend.
Everyone makes an effort at 34th games, no one picks fault with anyone's kit and as a result we have fun enjoyable games.
The scenario cards give you choices to decide what type of game you want. In one game we set up guards and planted booby traps in the village, withdrew then waited for the unsuspecting GIs to set them off.
The search for supplies is a real boost when you find US or German chocolate inside.
I have played games organised by others and enjoyed them as well, they are just a different style.
I am biased being a member of 34th, but I have played more games as German.
I shot less than 300 bb's at the last 34th game, it is no way a bb fest. Most scenario cards encourage you to do the mission and not get into firefights.
I don't visit this site that often and rely on others to tell me what games are coming up.
I think rather than ask others to 'pass on their player base' you should be asking why are their games so successful? If you attend you will find out and maybe enjoy yourself.

Yeah, I'm not keen to return to Fireball for some very specific reasons. Unfortunately I can't make the August game. I would otherwise as it's on my doorstep.

I remember getting very uptight with a forum member in the early days - and when I met him, what a great guy he was. You can't always understand the tone of somebody's post, and there's a temptation to take it the wrong way. Resist that temptation, and remain positive, everybody!

I've just re-read the Hockwerk scenario and nowhere did it mention bumming or indeed straight sex. Had you made things clearer then I'm quite sure you would have been booked to the rafters, July or not. Hell, I'd rather assume you would accommodate players that swing all ways - you usually do, and get good numbers.
